BCIM and BCIH

AAIM's advocacy for broader treatment options facilitates a bond between integrative and Western medicine, and researchers from all specialties to compare notes and combine forces, benefiting both the patient and the health care provider.

The American Association of Integrative Medicine (AAIM) offers two prestigious credentialing programs. Become Board Certified in Integrative Medicine or Board Certified in Integrative Health, depending on your specialty.

Possible Candidates for BCIM would include but are not limited to:
Audiologists, chiropractors, dentists, marriage & family therapists, registered nurses, optometrists, pharmacists, physical therapists, physician assistants, physicians (DO's & MD's), podiatrists, psychoanalysts, licensed mental health professionals, and veterinarians.

Board Certified in Integrative Medicine, BCIM®
Minimum qualifications include: Must have at least a Bachelor's degree from a U.S. recognized accredited college or university (or a U.S. equivalency statement for foreign degrees) OR have a minimum of 5 years experience and be certified in your specialty. Must have a current license to practice in your state. Must attain 150 points on the application OR pass the BCIM exam.

Possible candidates for BCIH include but are not limited to:
Naturopaths, homeopaths, non-licensed mental health professionals, reflexologists, nutritionists, Reiki practitioners, herbalists, massage therapists, and other practitioners of CAM modalities.

Board Certified in Integrative Health (BCIH)
Minimum qualifications include: Must have at least a Bachelor's degree from a U.S. recognized accredited college or university (or a U.S. equivalency statement for foreign degrees) OR have a minimum of 5 years experience and be certified in your specialty Must attain 100 points on the application OR pass the BCIH exam.
